Featured This Month, December 2020: An Enchanting Christmas Grotto

Each month we handpick one talented Instagrammer and their impeccably beautiful home to be featured in our journal and on our Instagram page. We are truly inspired daily by all the talent that we see and just have to share with you. This month we bring you an enchanting Christmas grotto by @home_joyr.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year and within Joy’s beautiful home and garden lies a cluster of enchanting festive décor ideas. It’s the ultimate stylish and cosy Christmas haven as Joy has chosen the most elegant theme for her home this year. She has filled her home with a choice of sophisticated white, gold and silver decorations, which oozes a vibe of Christmas luxury. This theme goes perfectly in Joy’s home, where modernity is combined with rustic country décor to create a harmonious blend of texture, warmth and style.

“I love the country, rustic feel but also with a modern twist so I tried to recreate this with the use of oak & wood as much as possible to give it a cosy, cottage style but still kept it quite minimalistic to keep the style more modern”

The divine simplicity of Joy’s home is her calm colour palette, making her home feel soft, contemporary and relaxed.

Joy’s roaring log fire in her cosy lounge is the perfect place to relax with a warming and woody, lightly spiced mulled wine on her plush sofa. To keep her logs nicely organised, she has used our Grey & Buff Rattan Square Log Basket and completed the look with twinkling lights to give her fireplace a little extra sparkle for Christmas.

“Cosy nights with all the lights on the tree are my absolute favourite”

Joy has also cleverly whitewashed her logs and popped them in her unit which looks very rustic and elegant. (Of course, she couldn’t not have a little sparkle in her home)

We cannot wait to take you through to Joy’s Christmas garden of delights. Joy’s garden is like the garden that keeps on giving, not only is it filled with stunning festive decorations, its eclectic design includes a large seating area under their fabulous pergola, a hot tub and an array of stylish landscape gardening décor to be totally inspired by. She has used a basket similar to our Grey & Buff Rattan Round Rope Planter as a base for a little Christmas tree, which looks utterly fabulous and exceedingly charming.

“My favourite basket from The Basket Company collection has to be the large square planter. It’s such a statement for any garden or patio area and is ideal for a raised planting area”

Now for one of the most unique home necessities we think we’ve seen on Instagram, Joy’s very own self-build pub “The Tipsy Cow” The Tipsy Cow is equipped with a wonderful selection of wine, spirits and beer, where she can thoroughly enjoy her evenings by letting her creativity flow and create delicious cocktails. Needless to say, she has become quite the mixologist!

To go with the rest of the décor in her home, the setting is designed with luxury in mind. She has chosen classy and sophisticated neutral tones to fit the theme of style and relaxation.

We couldn’t think of a better way to end the evening in Joy’s lovely little Christmas grotto than by relaxing in her bubbling hot tub under the stars, with a homemade cocktail in hand, surrounded by Christmas twinkly lights – just fabulous!
