Featured This Month | A Classic And Timeless Christmas

Each month we hand-pick one talented Instagrammer to be featured in our Journal and in our Instagram guides.

This month, we cannot wait to show you the classic and timeless Christmas setting, in the home of Sarah Copestake @scopestake82.

Sarah’s home evokes an inviting feeling of welcoming warmth, style and a show-stopping display of creativity. Every single room is an interior designer’s dream, with displays of muted timeless décor, combined with traditional English accents such as dark hardwood furniture, antique pieces and period features to spark interest.

Each room has been carefully curated with perfection in mind including the choice of colour, texture and style. Throughout Sarah’s home the colour scheme features modern, classic neutral shades of sage, white and grey combined with elegant traditional English tones of mahogany, walnut and oak.

It’s even more spectacular at Christmas time with the home injected full of magic and Christmas cheer. If this doesn’t make you feel festive, nothing will!

Let’s start in the lounge.

This year, the Christmas tree in Sarah’s lounge plays a very poignant part in her home, as she has decorated her Christmas tree in memory of her father.

She has filled it with a splash of variety in colour, featuring a combination of elegant blue, silver, gold and green baubles, as well as winter berries, a blue tartan ribbon to represent his Scottish background and a pheasant on top, in memory of his country pursuits. We can honestly say we have never seen a tree like it! Such a poignant and beautiful sentiment.

She has completed the look with a wicker Christmas tree skirt and placed the tree in the corner near her cosy arm chair, along with our Grey & Buff Rattan Wicker Log Basket for blankets.

Above the fireplace, she has added a gorgeous festive artificial garland, with natural foliage that she has foraged from her garden and in her local village. Such a gorgeous idea for a pop of vibrant greenery for Christmas.

Next up is the cinema room Christmas tree.

One of our favourite rooms in Sarah’s home is her sensational cinema room. She has decorated this space in such soft, muted colours for a feel of total cosiness, complete with plush furnishings for the ultimate stylish look.

To match the elegance of this beautiful space, Sarah has decorated her Christmas tree with elegant shades of gold baubles, stars and pine cones for a completely stylish and regal Christmas feel.

Imagine all the wonderful movie nights you could have in this room! With as many snacks as you wish and all the comfort food such as ice cream, popcorn, sweets and cakes galore! You could make movie night EVEN cosier with candles burning for a subtle romantic feel. On a cold winter’s evening, dim the lights put your pyjamas on and then choose a favourite Christmas film, whilst the gentle twinkle of the Christmas tree glows in the corner. Have a hot chocolate at the ready, grab a blanket from a Square Grey & Buff Rattan Log Basket and you’re good to go! Now… what Christmas film to choose?

“I love your baskets and can’t get enough of them”

In Sarah’s hallway, old and new meld together as you are welcomed with a timeless hallway of muted interior, classic white panelled walls and stone tiles. We love the light oak mixed with chrome and glass accents and the modern country feel of this entrance. At Christmas time, it’s even more welcoming. We don’t know what we love most, the beautiful wreath on the front door or the elegant Christmas tree by the staircase that makes us feel oh so Christmassy.

Sarah has used more of our Grey & Buff Rattan Round Log Baskets as storage solutions to keep in her console table. Such a clever way to hide shoes, hats, scarves, dog leads and anything that clutters the hallway!

Finally, for complete charm, we can’t wait to show you Sarah’s little bedroom tree.

Sarah adores a Christmas tree in the bedroom and we can certainly understand why! What a beautiful way to wake up with the sight of a charming little festive tree to brighten your morning and the glow of the tree in the corner, as you are reading a book in bed at night time. She has completed her little Christmas tree with white, silver and gold baubles with some foliage at the top of the tree for a rustic finish. Consistency is key in Sarah’s home, so to match the Grey & Buff textures in the rest of her home, she has added one of our small Grey & Buff Rattan Christmas Tree Skirts to hide the unsightly Christmas tree leg.

We just LOVE your innovative creations so if you’d like to be featured next month, simply tag @TheBasketCompany on Instagram and show us how you’ve used your talents to style our baskets in your home or garden.
