Featured This Month | Fresh Spring Décor

Each month we handpick one talented Instagrammer and their impeccably beautiful home to be featured in our journal and on our Instagram page. We are truly inspired daily by all the talent that we see and just have to share with you. This month we bring you fresh, inspiring spring décor by Janie of @sandstone_and_sawdust.

The thing that makes Janie’s period home so very special is the unique combination of different interior trends, which creates contrast and introduces a myriad of ways to harness the power of interior design.

It’s when you look a little bit closer amongst the fresh, modern design that you start to notice the different characteristics and creativity.  It’s everything from the blend of historical and modern features such as the characterful detailing and the 150-year-old Victorian elements combined with a fresh, contemporary and timeless look, that makes Janie’s home the perfect feature for spring.

Period hallway decor inspiration

At first glance, Janie’s hallway boasts a light modern look with fresh bright walls, elegant panelling and gorgeous accessories on her console table. However Janie has combined 4 different types of décor together to create a harmony of inspiration and a timeless look. If you look closer you will notice the period ceiling and the pop of colour from the Victorian staircase. If you look even closer you will notice the touch of industrial farmhouse features, such as the very modern light fixture, combined with the rusticity of our Grey & Buff Rattan Wicker Log Baskets in her console table to keep her hallway tidy. To complete the hallway, she has added some fresh flowers for ever changing vibrancy.

Victorian bay window details

The way she has styled this fabulous cosy corner in this grand, Victorian open bay window looks like it is fit for royalty. By simply adding her plush chaise lounge to the sleek and stylish tones of elegant white, she has created such a beautiful space to relax with a good book or an interiors magazine. In true Janie style, for a pop of natural colour she has added vibrant hydrangeas to our Grey & Buff Rattan Wicker Planter. We think the elegance of this planter really adds to the beauty of this room (if we do say so ourselves!)

Ultimate shelf organisation

Finally, for the ultimate organisation, Janie has used our Grey & Buff Rattan Cubed Baskets to keep clutter at bay in this unit of her home. How beautiful is this shelf styling?

Once more, look closely at a blend of modernity paired with a calm feel and hints of a coastal vibe. We absolutely adore the panelled features coupled with a fusion of elegant and rustic accessories, which transports us in our minds to a beautiful home on a stunning coastline. Our Wicker Storage Baskets are such a perfect choice for this unit. The timeless Grey & Buff Rattan material looks exquisite on this shelf, simply perfect for soul-cleansing organisation.
