Featured This Month, May 2020: A Quintessential English Garden

Each month we handpick one talented Instagrammer and their impeccably beautiful home to be featured in our journal and on our Instagram page. We are truly inspired daily, by all the talent that we see and just have to share with you. This month we bring you “ a quintessential English garden” by @sophiahomeandlifestyle.

If you’re looking for a classic English home and garden, you will certainly find all the inspiration you need within Sophia’s beautiful home and garden. Throughout her home, she has chosen such a charming and luxurious English cottage style design. Fit with rustic wooden beams for a country-inspired, traditional English home and elegant accessories to make for such a stylish and timeless looking home.

Now, let’s take you on a tour around her dreamy garden …

With wide open manicured grounds and a carefully curated combination of an outstanding array of blooms, Sophia really has created a garden fit for royalty. We can just imagine strolling through her perfectly aligned Buxus topiary and stopping to inhale the delicate scent of the elegant apple blossom trees. Not to mention enjoying a small pause by her peaceful and gorgeous pond.

We just love all of Sophia’s innovative designs, especially this fantastic display. She had cleverly used two of our Grey & Buff Wicker Log Baskets and lined them to use as pot planters! Sophia has chosen pink hydrangeas and olive trees for our Round Grey & Buff Wicker Log Basket and small Buxus trees for the Square Grey & Buff Wicker Log Baskets.

We think it looks just beautiful and the clever part is that these log baskets are complete with sturdy handles, making it easy to manoeuvre her lovely creations around the garden! We think we can all agree that nothing completes a beautiful garden like filling it with bright blossoms and lush topiary displays, in rustic wicker pot planters!

Sophia also takes pride in a charming kitchen garden, a family tradition that she had from childhood.

“My mother always ran a productive kitchen garden at home while I was growing up and it is something I just automatically started as a young wife and mother thirty years ago”

Sophia’s kitchen garden allows her to collect an abundance of beautifully fresh, vibrant vegetables and prepares them to create organic and wholesome meals, which can be enjoyed beneath her exquisite vine pergola, complete with fairy lights and bunting for a fairy-tale finish.
