Each month we handpick one talented Instagrammer and their impeccably beautiful home to be featured in our journal. We are truly inspired daily by all the talent that we see and just have to share it with you. This month’s “Featured this month” entrant is the sensational home of Dominique @cottagerenovationcwmrhys.
Timeless Christmas décor in a Welsh cottage
Nestled in a frosted Welsh countryside lies a stunning Victorian Welsh cottage, lit with beautiful twinkly Christmas decorations, filled with innovative creation, stunning interior and an abundance of wicker baskets. Dominique’s beautiful cottage is a Christmas dream come true brimming with elegant, classic and stylish decorations that evokes a personified Christmas card, featuring a grand, timeless Christmas country farmhouse feel and a lot of inspiration. We can’t wait to take you on a tour of her home. Are you ready? Let’s go.
Let’s start with the first point of entrance, the hallway.
Christmas Entrance Hall Decor
“Deck the hall with boughs of holly” – this lyric couldn’t have been truer in Dominique’s hallway! The entrance hall is the first room you’ll see when you arrive home and the last thing you see when you leave, so naturally it should be a space you want to come home to every day and to be welcomed with “a happy holidays floormat” instantly puts us in the Christmas spirit. In her bench you will find a collection of our Grey & Buff Rattan Wicker Cubed Baskets to store hats, gloves and scarves after a crisp snowy walk and our Grey & Buff Rattan Umbrella Basket, complete with a miniature Christmas tree for a little Christmas cheer. Dominique has chosen a very light airy feel for her boot room, adding larger windows to allow extra light flood this space, making it feel brighter and adding warmth. For a touch of Christmas magic on either side of the boot room, she has also added a Christmas wreath and a garland. Who said the entrance halls could never have Christmas decorations?
A Divine Christmas Stone Fireplace
Imagine tiptoeing down on Christmas morning, whilst outside a bitter winter is covering rolling Welsh hills with thick snow, to a warm, roaring fire, crackling away with fresh logs in a stunning stone fireplace, surrounded by Christmas decorations. Of course, this rustic fireplace wouldn’t be complete without rustic accessories, so a couple of Grey & Buff Rattan Wicker Log Baskets will certainly fit the bill on this occasion. Dominique has chosen a small and Large Grey & Buff Rattan Square Wicker Log Basket for logs and kindling, providing style and ease when tending to her fire. Isn’t this just the perfect setting for Christmas morning?
Quaint Cottage Christmas Tree Décor
Stood proudly next to her stunning fireplace is her beautiful Christmas tree, decorated with burgundy velvet ribbons, gold and white baubles fitted into a beautiful wicker Christmas tree skirt. Doesn’t it look gorgeous in this space? For a little added extra charm, Dominique has included our adorable Vine Wicker Reindeer as the perfect Christmas accessory for her Christmas tree.
Festive Bedroom Décor
Dominique has a multitude of trees in her home but this one has to be our absolute favourite! She has continued the theme of rich Christmas burgundy and decorated her tree in stunning burgundy, white and gold decorations for a traditional-meets modern country look, complete with candles for a beautiful Scandi-touch. Dominique has chosen such a stunning Christmas tree to go into our Grey & Buff Rattan Rope Handled Planter, which makes for such a perfect and rustic base, so her Christmas tree is perfect from top to bottom!
And Dominique hasn’t stopped in the main areas of her house either! Transforming her bedroom into a festive wonderland, complete with tall burgundy candles, a festive garland draped over a stylish radiator cover and a miniature festive wreath, which looks so beautiful above the bed and the mirror in this room. What a lovely way to start and end the day, with a little bit of festive magic.
