Valentine’s Day For Him, Her And You

The History of Valentine’s day

There are many stories behind the history of Valentine’s Day, however our favourite is the story of Jack Valentine. It’s said in Victorian times, Jack Valentine left gifts on the doors of the people in his village on Valentine’s Eve, then disappeared into thin air.

We just love Valentine’s day. It’s the perfect time to re-connect with love, whether that’s with a partner, a friend, family member and yourself of course. If you are struggling for ideas or inspiration this year on how to make this romantic day special for your loved one, then look no further than this article, as we have plenty of thoughtful ideas that are sure to delight your loved one.

Roses

First and foremost, do not forget roses on Valentine’s day. Roses are the traditional Valentine’s flower as they symbolise romance and love. But of course, it doesn’t have to be roses if your loved one has a specific favourite type of flower. Ask them subtly what their favourite flowers are or, better yet if you’d really like to surprise them, why not choose some flowers that you think would suit them and add a little note to tell them why you chose them.

Breakfast In Bed

Treat them to breakfast in bed. The breakfast could be as healthy or as indulgent as you wish! It can be something so simple as poached eggs on toast with smashed avocado and a cup of coffee, or simply a bowl of porridge and orange juice if that’s what they’d prefer. Place the breakfast on one of our useful and elegant Grey & Buff Rattan Wicker Storage Trays, to help you carry the breakfast in to them. Then for a romantic touch, pop a singular rose on the tray and your romantic breakfast is complete!

Romantic Gift Hamper

This is an easy one, simply fill up a hamper basket with all their favourite things. This way you could spend half the price of a pre-made hamper and it will be filled with things that they would love. This could be anything from their favourite chocolates, biscuits or perfume. Or why not fill it up with pamper treats and create an indulgent spa experience at home? Choose from our wide range of gift hampers to help you create their perfect gift. You can even narrow down the style of your hamper to their favourite colours with our selection of hamper kit accessories. For a Valentine’s Day theme, choose our red gift tag, red shredded paper and our pink or red gift bow to create the ultimate Valentine’s Day hamper.

Remember to write a card or letter

A little tip from us, remember to write a card or a letter to your other half. Cards are so underrated now with the noise of digital devices, but cards still remain of great importance to a lot of people. A card can be so special if it’s dated, personalised and thought out with lovely words. Or why not write a hand-written letter? Filled with memories, laughter and love that they will be able to keep as a keepsake. These can be sent to a partner, friends or family members to show appreciation for how much they mean to you.

For a really special treat and an inexpensive gift for Valentine’s day why not treat your loved one to a Wooden Wine Crate, filled with their favourite tipples?

If you have visited a vineyard with your loved one before, why not take them down a trip to memory lane and fill up the crate with bottles of wine that you sampled on your trip and re-live the experience?

If your tipple is more like beer or cider, then support your local brewery or even your local gin distillery and fill up one of our Wooden Beer Crates and surprise them with their favourites!

Complete any of these ideas with a movie night at home or spend some time together making a photo album full of lovely memories. However, you decide to spend Valentine’s day, just make it memorable for you and check out more of our tips in our how to make Valentine’s day extra special blog here.
